The Vice President, Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Ghana’s former First Lady, Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, describing her as a true icon whose legacy of service and dedication to national development will endure for generations.

In a statement, Prof. Naana Opoku-Agyemang conveyed her heartfelt condolences to the children and family of the late former First Lady, acknowledging her significant contributions to the empowerment of women and the advancement of Ghana.

“We mourn the passing of our former First Lady, H.E. Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings. She was a true icon and will be remembered for her service to Ghana. My deepest condolences go to her children and family. I wish her peaceful rest,” the Vice President stated.

Prof. Opoku-Agyemang who is in the United States of America on official assignment, joined the nation in mourning a distinguished leader whose life and work have left an indelible mark on Ghana’s history.
