  • Walewale MP Announces Major Development Projects in Constituency

The Member of Parliament for Walewale Constituency, Dr. Mahama Tiah Abdul Kabiru, has unveiled an ambitious development agenda aimed at improving infrastructure and services within the constituency.

The MP outlined a series of upcoming projects and ongoing initiatives designed to enhance education, healthcare, youth empowerment, and water access.

Among the highlights, Dr. Mahama announced the commencement of several infrastructural projects, including the sod-cutting for a three-unit classroom block at Bimbini in the Yaama Electoral Area (EA), the construction of a teachers’ bungalow at Boamasa in the Kparigu EA, and the reconstruction of a similar classroom block at Janga in the Fongni EA.

Additionally, efforts are underway to rehabilitate an abandoned maternity ward at Nasia in the Nasia EA, aiming to bolster maternal health services in the area.

The MP also revealed plans to commission a newly established recording studio under the Youth and Creative Sector Support Initiative, an effort designed to promote talent development and creative arts among local youth.

In addition to infrastructure development, Dr. Mahama emphasized the importance of healthcare and water projects. He announced that authorities would inspect the progress of the Reproductive Health and Child Center at Janga to ensure timely completion.

Furthermore, the MP disclosed that processes are being finalized for the award of contracts for the construction of mechanized boreholes in several communities, including Yakura, Vuga, Wungu Naabofong, Bokuduri, Moshiefong, Sakori, and Fungu. These water projects are expected to significantly improve access to clean drinking water for residents.

Concluding his remarks, Dr. Mahama reaffirmed his commitment to advocating for development initiatives that directly benefit his constituents.

While the central government plays a vital role in national development, it is equally important for us at the local level to fill the gaps and ensure that development reaches every community, he stated. I shall continue to lobby and work diligently to bring progress and prosperity to Walewale.

The outlined projects reflect the MP’s dedication to fostering sustainable development and improving the quality of life for residents of Walewale. The community and stakeholders await the commencement of these projects, which are expected to contribute significantly to the growth and development of the constituency.
